SERAPHEIM AWARDS

Every year, during the graduation ceremony for the Vocational Training Centre’s students, prizes are awarded for Excellence and Conduct, which have been established in the memory of the first Chairman of the Foundation, His Eminence Archbishop Serapheim, and are accompanied by a cash award.

The Award for Excellence is given for academic performance to the student who achieves the highest grade of all. The prize for Conduct is granted to the student who has shown exemplary conduct during his or her studies.

His Eminence Archbishop Serapheim, from 1958 as Metropolitan of Ioannina and until his death in 1998, was head of the national effort to uphold the rights of Albanians of Greek descent, and at the same time worked to prevent the decline of historically Greek-speaking regions of Epirus.
