Awards of the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Albanians of Greek Descent for the academic year 2010-11

PROGRAMME OF ACADEMIC PRIZES OF THE FOUNDATION
FOR THE REHABILITATION OF ALBANIANS OF GREEK DESCENT

ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-2011

 

The University of Ioannina in co-operation with the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Albanians of Greek Descent (www.latsis-iaoa.gr), member of the foundations network that has been set up by the family of John S. Latsis, will commonly materialise a programmme for the award of 12 prizes  to Albanian students of Greek descent [six (6) undergraduate and six (6) postgraduate] of the University of Ioannina titled “Prizes of the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Albanians of Greek Descent” for the academic year 2010-2011.

I. PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME

The purpose of the programme is the rewarding of the performance of the undergraduate and postgraduate students, Albanians of Greek descent, currently at the University of Ioannina and also their financial support, taking social criteria into account.

II. GENERAL PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
a) Students must be in the second or in a successive year of any Faculty or Department of the University of Ioannina.
b) Students must be Albanians of Greek descent.
c) Students must have successfully passed, at least, 80% of the curriculum with an average grade of at least 7.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
a) Students must be attending any postgraduate Curriculum at the University of Ioannina, whether they have received their undergraduate degree from the University of Ioannina or any other Greek or Albanian University.
b) Students must be Albanians of Greek descent.
c) Postgraduate students during the first year must have an undergraduate degree of at least 7.
d) Postgraduate students during the second year must have successfully succeeded in all subjects of the first postgraduate year with an average grade at least 7.

III. REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
a) Documents certifying performance during the previous years. Specifically:
• Undergraduate students: grade analysis of the previous years.
• Postgraduate students in the first year: copy of the undergraduate degree.
• Postgraduate students in the second year: grade analysis of the first year of postgraduate studies.
b) Family status certificate.
c) Solemn declaration of law 1599/1986 that they have never been convicted or prosecuted for any offense.
d) Certification from the Aliens’ Bureau or any other Public Authority affirming that they are Albanians of Greek descend.
e)  Certification of permanent residence, by the relevant Albanian Authority, in case one or both parents are Albanian residents.
f) Parents’ tax statement for the previous two years (2009 and 2010).
g) High school certificate.
h) Any document proving social criteria for consideration (large family certificate, medical opinion for an illness, death certificate of a parent etc.).

IV. NUMBER OF PRIZES AND AMOUNT AWARDED
For the academic year 2010-2011, the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Albanians of Greek Descent shall award six (6) prizes to undergraduate students of € 2.400 each and six (6) prizes to postgraduate students of € 3.500 each.

V. APPLICATION  SUBMISSION EXPIRATION DATE
The period for the submission of applications together with all necessary supporting documents will expire within 45 days from the first publication in the daily press of the summary of this invitation.
Applications may be submitted by post, in person, or through a representative to the Archives Office (Protocol) of the University of Ioannina.
